Enrolling for martial arts lessons can be an experience that changes life, often leading to a self-mocked journey.
This is because there is more in these ancient combat styles than learning to fight. The training of martial arts also concerns the overcoming of adversities, becoming more disciplined and the transformation of your mind, body and spirit.
Three famous people who have transformed their lives with martial arts training

1) Bruce Lee

Most people have heard of the countless bruce lee martial arts exploits, but many do not realize how troubled as a young man it was. Born in San Francisco but raised in Hong Kong, Lee often got into trouble as a young man, often entering street fighting.
His behavior was so worrying for his family that in the end they sent him to the United States, hoping that the change of scenario would help him find a new path.
Lee began training in Kung Fu in Hong Kong and continued his training after returning to the United States, his training gave him the discipline and concentration he needed to change his life. He continued to become a martial arts philosopher, finally developing his combat system called Jeet Kune Do.
The formation of martial arts gave Bruce Lee the purpose he needed to change his life, and has continued to remodel the future of combat sports with his controversial vision that martial artists should not allow any style of limit their growth. Lee believed that the best martial artists were those who took what worked for them from various disciplines. Modern mixed martial arts have shown the correct philosophy of Lee.
2) Mike Tyson

The transition of Mike Tyson from a teenager in difficulty becoming one of the most dominant maximum weight champions in the history of boxing is nothing short of considerable. Born in an area full of crime in Brooklyn, New York, Tyson had already been arrested several times at the age of 13. He could easily become a career criminal.
Fortunately for Tyson, fate had other plans for him. He was presented to him the legendary boxing coach Cus d’Amato, who immediately saw his potential and took him under his wing. D’Amato was not only the Tyson boxing coach; He realized that the young man needed a paternal figure and took a step forward to play the role. Boxing became Tyson ‘salvation at that point when he started spending most of his time in the gym instead of running on the streets of New York. Boxing gave Tyson the structure so necessary in its life and an outlet for all the repressed anger built by its rough education.
Tyson quickly became the favorite student of D’Amato and continued to become the youngest champion of the heavyweight in the history of boxing at the age of 20. While Tyson has not been a perfect citizen since he started boxing, it is crystal clear that his training has given him purposes and helped him escape a hard life on the streets.
Tyson’s story highlights how martial arts training can provide structure, purpose and opportunities to those who feel lost. Anyone can enormously improve their quality of life by enrolling in martial arts lessons.
3) Eduard Follow

The story of Folayang is among the most stimulating in the roster of a championship. He overcome significant personal struggles at the beginning of life and still managed to emerge as one of the most respected fighters in Asia.
Eduard grew up in Baguio City, in the Philippines, in extreme poverty. As if growing in poverty was not serious enough, the personal tragedy hit soon while he lost five of his brothers.
Despite all the difficulties he faced at the beginning of life, Folayang found comfort in his formation of martial arts. He continued to train as he pursued a university diploma and continued to represent the Philippines to the international competitions of Wushu, where he won more gold medals.
Folayang did not settle for dominating the opponents to Wushu competitions and in the end passed to mixed martial arts, making his debut on the regional circuits. He quickly completed a professional record for 9-1 and made his debut in a championship at a FC 1: Champion vs. Champion, defeating Kwon A-Sol and earning the Fight of the Night award.
Eduard fought to find his groove fighting for the largest promotion of martial arts mixed by Asia, but in the end he made his way for a shot. He defeated the legendary Shinya Aoki to win the light title of the promotion and has successfully defended him once.
Folayang became twice world champion when he returned to another shot and defeated Amir Khan. He lost his belt during his next release in Aoki.
