Tom Brady reveals he’s already exploring a return to the NFL
Tom Brady tried to return to the NFL, but the league wasn’t interested.
In an interview with CNBC this week, the seven-time Super Bowl champion said he reached out about retiring a second time and was rebuffed.
“I actually asked about it and they don’t really like the idea,” Brady said. “We explored a lot of different things and I’m very happy to retire.”
Brady last played in the 2022 season. He and a partner acquired a 10% ownership stake in the Las Vegas Raiders on Oct. 15, 2024, and a return to play would have required him to sell that stake under league rules.
Brady described his current role with the Raiders as a strategic consultant, saying his phone is always available to anyone in the organization who needs it.
“I want to see everyone succeed, bring a winning type of culture to Las Vegas and bring the Raiders back to glory,” Brady said.
Beyond his role as owner, Brady has been in the Fox Sports broadcast booth as the network’s lead NFL analyst for the past two seasons on a 10-year, $375 million contract. He also participated in the Fanatics Flag Football Classic last weekend, throwing a touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs more than 1,000 days after his last NFL game.
Brady said the flag football experience actually strengthened his satisfaction with retirement.
“I loved being out there playing the flag game,” Brady said. “But if anything that match reconfirmed for me that I am very happy with my retirement.”
Brady previously said he would never rule out competing in flag football at the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles, although he called that possibility unlikely.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
